Skills development
We have an active learning culture and are keen for both new and long-serving employees to develop their capabilities. We therefore offer a wide range of professional development opportunities. We encourage staff to gain certifications, attend external courses and complete educational programmes. We work with a number of external firms as well as having various internal initiatives to bring new perspectives and contribute to skills development, including regular lunch seminars with both internal and external speakers.
Introduction programme
It is important to us that all new recruits feel welcome and find their place within the organisation. Our induction programme provides an introduction to our social objective, our business areas and the history of the fund.
Presentations, tours and discussions combine to give you a better idea of who we are and what makes us unique. The programme also gives you a chance to meet others in the same position and get to know senior management and colleagues in different departments.
NBIM Academy
To support continuous professional development for all staff, we have our own internal academy with a wide range of courses and learning opportunities, both online and in person. Courses include:
- E-learning about the investment process
- Programming in Python
- Presentation techniques
- Agile methodology
- Idea generation
- Giving and using feedback
- Yoga for the home office
Management development
Our management philosophy is that none of us is as smart as all of us. Our management style is therefore based on collective decision-making. We offer courses and management development opportunities for employees with managerial ambitions. We are particularly keen to see more women in senior and executive positions and have set a target of 40 percent women in senior management.
NBIM Teach
Through the NBIM Teach programme, we provide guest lecturers and share our expertise in relevant areas with colleges and universities. This forms part of our responsibility to build knowledge and confidence among the population in general.
