New Chief Investment Officer Asset Strategies
Geir Øivind Nygård has been appointed Chief Investment Officer (CIO) Asset Strategies in Norges Bank Investment Management. He started on 1 January 2017.
Geir Øivind Nygård has been appointed Chief Investment Officer (CIO) Asset Strategies in Norges Bank Investment Management. He started on 1 January 2017.
Nygård comes from the position of Global Head of Portfolio Management, but has been interim CIO Asset Strategies since 1 December 2016.
“We are happy that Geir Øivind has accepted to take on the position. He brings with him experience and deep knowledge of our asset strategies. He represents a good continuation of the successful efforts within the area since the beginning,” says Yngve Slyngstad, CEO in Norges Bank Investment Management.
Nygård joined the fund in 2007 as Portfolio Manager in Equity Asset Strategies. Since then he has held different leading positions within the fund. He holds a Master of Technology, Industrial Economics and Technology Management from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU).
