The fund’s annual reporting consists of a main report and three additional reports on responsible investment, real estate investments and performance and risk. The reporting amounts to more than 400 pages.

– The annual reporting is one of many vehicles to ensure transparency. This award is a pleasant recognition of our efforts to make large amounts of complex information accessible, says Trond Grande, deputy CEO of Norges Bank Investment Management.

Farmandprisen is a Norwegian award for annual reporting. It dates back to 1955, and was originally organised by the business magazine Farmand. The fund competed in the category for public organisations.

The fund’s website is another important vehicle for transparency. In addition to the reports, the website contains the fund’s holdings, voting records, advice to the Ministry of Finance, submissions, research and analysis, and extended figures.

Jury reasoning

Long-term management is an "eternity marathon" and Norges Bank Investment Management knows better than most that being a stayer is required to succeed with such a perspective.

This year's edition is perceived as a very good and thoroughly prepared report that scores high on all evaluated areas. The jury highlights very detailed reporting on the management of the fund and thorough coverage of risk aspects. The report also excels on prioritization of relevant information, a clear communication strategy and quality in the editorial expression.

Although all the very best in this class keeps a very high level, the jury congratulates NBIM with a deserved the top prize in this year’s competition. NBIM’s third Farmand reward is thus a fact!
