Norges Bank is one of the founding partners behind Norway’s Women in Finance Charter, which aims to increase the proportion of women in leadership positions in the finance industry. As a signatory to the charter, we have made a commitment to set internal targets for gender balance in leadership and senior positions.
The charter is owned by the industry itself via the trade associations Finance Norway, the Norwegian Venture Capital & Private Equity Association, the Norwegian Securities Dealers Association and the Norwegian Fund and Asset Management Association. The project is managed by FutureBoards AS.
As a signatory to the charter, we have made a commitment to set internal targets for gender balance in leadership and senior positions.
Norges Bank's objective is to have at least 40 percent women at Norges Bank as a whole, and a long-term goal of a gender balance at senior management level and specialist functions of 40 percent.

Governor Ida Wolden Bache is responsible for work on gender balance at Norges Bank Central Banking Operations and Norges Bank Administration, while the fund’s CEO Nicolai Tangen has this responsibility at Norges Bank Investment Management. All managers are responsible for ensuring a good gender balance in their own team.
Progress towards the targets will be monitored and published in Norges Bank’s annual report.
This will be one of the elements on which managers are assessed at Norges Bank.
